Fairfax AppWorks

Systemsol terms of use

Effective October 18, 2026

These terms apply to Systemsol (called Sol under the icon on your Home Screen), the app ("the App") published by Fairfax AppWorks ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the App you agree to them.

Apple's standard terms

The App is licensed to you under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement for Licensed Applications (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/), which applies in addition to these terms. If the two conflict, Apple's terms prevail.

Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store rules. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or distribute the App or its content, except as the law allows.

Educational use and accuracy

Systemsol is an educational visualisation. Distances and sizes are compressed so every world fits on screen, orbits are simplified to circles, and the interior layers of the gas and ice giants are model estimates, not measurements. We take care to use published values, but we do not guarantee that everything in the App is complete or error-free, and it should not be used for navigation, scientific research or any safety-critical purpose.

Third-party data

The App includes public data from NASA (Blue Marble imagery and planetary fact sheets), NOAA (ETOPO1 elevation), Natural Earth (land outlines) and Bird (2003), An updated digital model of plate boundaries (tectonic plate boundaries). We thank these sources. Their data remains subject to their own terms.

Ownership

The App, its code, design and icon belong to us. These terms give you no ownership of them.

No warranty and limit of liability

The App is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have by law that cannot be limited.

Changes and ending

We may update the App and these terms. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept it. You can stop at any time by deleting the App.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where your local consumer-protection laws require otherwise.
