Solids3D terms of use

Effective October 11, 2026

The short version: use Solids3D for anything lawful, the shapes you make are yours, and the app is provided as-is. If you 3D-print what you export, you are responsible for checking it is suitable and safe for its purpose.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to your use of the Solids3D app ("the App"), published by Fairfax AppWorks ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

The App is licensed to you through the Apple App Store. Apple's Standard End User License Agreement ("Standard EULA") also applies. If these Terms conflict with the Standard EULA about Apple's rights or your rights against Apple, the Standard EULA controls.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Apple devices you own or control, for your own personal or professional use, as permitted by the App Store usage rules.

You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile or resell the App, remove any notices from it, or use it to build a competing product, except where the law gives you these rights regardless of this clause.

3. Your content and exports

Shapes are generated mathematically from the names and settings you provide. You own the shapes you create, the saved shapes on your device, and the images, STL and OBJ files you export, and you may use them for any lawful purpose, including commercial purposes. We claim no rights over them.

The App itself, including its code, interface, icon, design and name, remains our property or that of our licensors.

4. Acceptable use

Use the App lawfully. Do not use it, or anything you make with it, to infringe anyone's rights, to violate any law, or to create items intended to harm people or property.

5. 3D printing and exported files

Exported STL and OBJ files are provided for convenience. Some shapes are open or one-sided surfaces (such as the Möbius strip, Klein bottle, helicoid and saddle) and have no inside, so they may not print correctly. The App warns you when this applies.

Printed results depend on your printer, material and settings. We do not guarantee that any exported file will print successfully, be dimensionally exact, or be fit for any particular purpose.

You are responsible for checking and testing anything you print, and for using it safely, particularly for any item with small parts, sharp points or edges, or that may be used by children.

6. Updates and availability

We may update, change or discontinue features of the App at any time. We do not promise that the App will always be available or free of errors.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. The shapes are rendered approximations for visualization and are not engineering or measurement tools.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or use, arising from your use of the App or of anything you make with it. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months before the claim arose, or US$10 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information. In short, it collects none.

10. Termination

These Terms apply until ended. You can end them at any time by deleting the App. We may end your license if you breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will do so.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the effective date above and, for material changes, note it in the App's release notes. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where your local consumer-protection laws require otherwise.
